Hi Phoebe and Cara,

I absolutely love your recipes and am trying out a few of your cookie recipes for the upcoming holidays to give as gifts. In the spirit of giving, I thought I would share with you a cookie recipe of my own!

I call them Nutella Wontons and the recipe is based off of one I saw on a Food Network show and then twisted to my own tastes.

All it takes are store bought wonton wrappers, a jar of nutella, dried cherries, walnuts or almonds, and vegetable oil.

Lay out the wonton wrappers and in the center of them put 1/2 tsp. of nutella, a dried cherry, and a piece of walnut or an almond (or both!). Brush or use your finger to wet the sides of the wrappers with water. Fold them into triangles and press firmly then pull the two sides together to make them look like a wonton.

Heat the vegetable oil in a shallow frying pan and fry the wontons until golden brown and place on a paper towel to drain any access oil. From here, you can either serve the wontons warm with a bit of powdered sugar sprinkled on top or let them cool. When you're ready to eat them, just pop them in the oven on a cookie sheet at 350 for 5-7 minutes to reheat then serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

They are so simple and have become a family staple on Christmas Eve. Hope you enjoy!

As someone who lives in a city apt(which means a small kitchen) and wants to entertain, you have addressed a void that has been missing. And as a vegetarian, it is often hard to find recipes to entertain with. So, yay, to the both of you! I am now a fan!
